Day by Day Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal! Home of the fierce Gurkhas, uncountable temples and stupas made with awe-inspiring craftsmanship and the most diverse country on the planet in terms of its flora, fauna and its people.

Once you arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport we will pick you up directly from the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Get into the spirit of your adventure and see the sights in Kathmandu. Don’t miss Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Pashpatinath or Durbar Square.

If you have any last minute shopping to do then today is the day to do that. The Thamel district of Kathmandu has you covered for all trekking related gear, you can buy and rent, as well as mountaineering equipment.

Meet your team in the evening for dinner and get to know your team leaders, leading the expedition to Mera Peak.

Accommodation: Hotel

Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap 4-5hrs and fly to Lukla. Acclimitisation hike in Lukla.

Accommodation: Tea House

Trek from Lukla to Chutanga and back to Lukla. 4-5 hrs of trekking in the hills surrounded by alpine forests.

4-5hrs trekking in the alpine forests.

Trek from Chutanga to Thuli Kharka via Chhatra La Pass (4600m).

Gradual ascent and then a steeper climb for crossing Chhatra La Pass.

Then easy downhill towards Thuli Kharka.

Trek from Thuli Kharka to Kothe. 4-5 hrs trekking in rocky terrain and alpine vegetation. Mostly downhill to Hinku River and then a final climb in the Rhododendron forest to Kothe.

4-5hrs of trekking just beside the Hinku river with alpine vegetation and rocky terrain. Pass a 200 year old Lungsumgba Gompa.

Acclimatisation day. Explore the valley around Thagnak.

4-5hrs of trekking in rocky terrain, noticing the vegetation is much less now we are increasing our altitude even more.

From here we will see the northern face of Mera Peak.

Acclimatisation day in Khare. Today we will do some basic mountaineering training and equipment checks.

Hike above 5000m to Mera La (Glacier Tongue) or even higher if everything goes well and then head back to Khare before the sun sets.

We will also be using mountaineering gear and equipment for familiarisation and checking the reliability of everyone’s equipment.

Follow the steep trail to Mera Peak base camp and cross Mera La Pass to reach Mera High Camp.

This day we climb from Khare and ski tour from crampon point to High Camp 5700m. We climb rocky terrain for the first few hours, then after crampon point we tour on the main ropes with skis lead by the mountain guide. We have packed lunch on the way. We camp at High Camp tonight. Dinner will be very early so we can try to sleep for 7/8hrs for the summit push the next day at 0200-0300hrs.

Starting the day at 0200-0300hrs for the Mera Summit push. After a proper meal and preparing all gear, equipment and food we start the move on the main ropes lead by the mountain guide. We will be moving as a team. The route is non-technical. We slowly climb into the ever-thinning air on our Skis/Snowboards and sometimes crampons (depending on the terrain). The slope steepens for a section behind the ridge and the summit comes back in view. From the summit we take in amazing views of the mighty Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyu (8201m) Lhotse (8516m) Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m) Nuptse (7855m), Chamlang (7319m) Baruntse (7219m) to name a few. After summiting we descend towards Mera La on our Skis/Snowboards in 30-45mins if there is no whiteout and tek down to Khare

This day is allocated for either bad weather/ team member’s health.

Fly from Khare to Lukla by Heli then catch our flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu. We can then spend the rest of the afternoon at our leisure. In the evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate our successful trip to the mountains.

Time to say goodbye. We will drop you back to the airport in time for your onward flight.
