Experience a ride through the deepest gorge in the world…

Ride from Kathmandu through the middle hills and home of the ‘Gurkhas’ before entering the Lower Mustang region of Nepal. Mustang is closely linked to Tibet and geographically similar with barren plains and remote high altitude villages.

On this tour we visit the highest temple in the world, Muktinath with it’s 108 cold water spouts. You will encounter amazing views of three of the 8000m+ peaks; Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Manaslu.

The roads will be a mixture of paved, unpaved and spoilt sections.

11 Day Itinerary

Once you arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport we will pick you up directly from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Amidst all the chaos lies ancient stories of warriors, rivaling dynasties and great spiritual masters. This legendary capital city is home to an eclectic mix of people, shops, restaurants, temples, stupas, myths and legends! *Remember usually flights are overnight so you should allow an extra day for the journey to Kathmandu.

Familiarisation with bikes and Nepali riding style. Mixture of mountain roads, paved, unpaved, gravel and sandy tracks.

Ride local jeep tracks to Gorkha, home of the Gurkhas. From here we can see glorious views of Mt. Manaslu and other Himalayan peaks as we check in to our hilltop hotel to relax for the night.

We follow the scenic route today, riding by Begnas and Rupa Tal (Lakes). We briefly join up to the Prithvi Highway. Finally we arrive in the laid back lakeside town of Pokhara, ready to relax.

We set off out of Pokhara and head north to the friendly mountain village of Kalopani. Time slows down as we ascend into Lower Mustang and closer to the mountains.

We ride along the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world and arrive at  Muktinath. Sat at 3850m, there are 108 freezing cold water spouts. Riding further north we reach the beginning of the Tibetan plateau, returning to Marpha for some apple pie in the evening. Staying overnight in a handpicked Teahouse.

Today we take you onto the local trails around Marpha. If possible we can venture to a  high pass of over 5000m looking north to Tibet. We return to the white washed village of Marpha in the afternoon. Staying overnight in a Teahouse.

Retracing our route we ride to Pokhara.

Today is a free day in Pokhara. Pokhara is Nepal’s home of adventure sports, so you could take the opportunity to go Paragliding, white water rafting, or for the really adventurous bungee jump off a suspension bridge.

We ride back to Kathmandu along the main highway connecting Pokhara to the capital.

Time to say farewell to Nepal and your guides before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
