Busy city traffic, jeep track, broken roads, muddy sections and tarmac will give you an unforgettable intro to riding in Nepal. This is a free rest day for walking or riding around and taking in the mountain air. This area is quiet with not much to do but sit and look at the mountains. There are small mountain villages scattered around and also some dirt tracks which are a lot of fun for riding or walking around the stunning alpine scenery of the 9000ft+ hillsides. There is an optional full day excursion to a Tibetan monastery situated about 60km on a route where river crossings and an off road mountainous track will bring you there to see what an authentic remote working Buddhist monastery looks and feels like.
