11 Day Itinerary
Once you arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport we will pick you up directly from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Amidst all the chaos lies ancient stories of warriors, rivaling dynasties and great spiritual masters. This legendary capital city is home to an eclectic mix of people, shops, restaurants, temples, stupas, myths and legends! *Remember usually flights are overnight so you should allow an extra day for the journey to Kathmandu.
Meet your trusty steeds and road captains for the trip today. Confronted with a mixture of mountain roads, paved, unpaved, gravel and sandy tracks, you will be promoted to ‘motorcycle adventurer’ by the time we reach Nuwakot Durbar!
Tell the world to ‘eat my dust’ as we take the back routes north to Gorkha. From here we can see glorious views of Mt. Manaslu and other Himalayan peaks as we check in to our hilltop hotel to relax for the night.
We follow the scenic route today, riding by Begnas and Rupa Tal (Lakes). We briefly join up to the Prithvi Highway, featured in the BBC’s documentary “The world’s most dangerous highways”! Finally we arrive in the laid back lakeside town of Pokhara, ready to relax.
We set off out of Pokhara and head north to the very friendly mountain village of Kalopani. Time slows down as we ascend into Lower Mustang, and closer to the mountains.
Epic is only a word, however today you will experience it’s true meaning! We ride along the Kali Gandaki Gorge , the deepest gorge in the world and arrive at one of the most sacred Hindu temples, Muktinath. Sat at 3850m, there are 108 freezing cold water spouts which promise to cleanse you of all your sins. You just have to run through them first! Riding further north we reach the beginning of the Tibetan plateau, returning to Marpha for some apple pie in the evening.
Time to get off the beaten track and go exploring as we take you onto the local trails around Marpha. We may even find ourselves on a high pass of over 5000m looking north to Tibet. We return to the white washed village of Marpha and its apple orchards in the afternoon.
Today we descend to the altitude of 840m and leave the remote mountains behind us. We arrive back in Pokhara at the amazing Fishtail Lodge. This hotel has unchallenged views of Lake Phewa and the mountains beyond.
Today is a free day in Pokhara. Pokhara is Nepal’s home of adventure sports, so you could take the opportunity to go Paragliding, white water rafting, or for the really adventurous bungee jump off a suspension bridge.
Shed some tears of joy on your last days’ ride back to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway. We head back into heavy traffic and deliver our wheels safely home.
Time to say farewell to Nepal and your guides before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
